About Us

This organization is composed of mental health counselors who have come together with the focus of providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, treatments to our clients.  The therapeutic relationship is based on a strong alliance between the therapist and the client.  Our therapists have a passion for working with trauma and have received specialized training for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD.  One tool our therapists utilize is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR.  This evidence-based therapy which is effective in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and many other diagnoses.  Working together with each client, shared goals are achieved bringing each individual to a place of mental wellness.

Beyond Talk Therapy: Rewire Your Response to Stress
When life leaves you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or constantly on edge, it is often because your nervous system is trapped in a past trauma response. In addition to EMDR, our practice uses Brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help you heal from the inside out. Where you look affects how you feel. By combining eye movement techniques with deep somatic awareness, these approaches help your brain reprocess heavy, painful memories into a state of calm resolution. Experience relief that is fast, gentle, and lasting—shifting you out of survival mode and back into your life.

The work done with Northwest Counseling Center is conducted free of personal biases and judgement.  The therapeutic alliance that develops between counselor and the person is a sacred trust.  Recognizing that it is often difficult to make the decision to seek therapy, we offer a safe, accepting, and welcoming environment where people can begin working to restore a sense of health, joy and freedom to their lives.  Together, a journey begins toward personal healing and empowerment.

What is Trauma-Informed Therapy?
It is an approach that shifts the question from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” We look beyond your symptoms to understand how your past experiences shape your present mind and body.
