EMDR 5-Day Intensive Basic Training (Virtual)

Virtual Training 

APRIL 18-22, 2022 – 8:00-5:00pm (PST) 40 CE’s offered through WMHCA

EMDRIA Approved Training to include both parts 1 and 2

Instructor: Jamie Pendon, LMHC, EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer.

Consultant Team: Terese Medina, LMHC Consultant in Training and Maren Lubig, LMHC Approved Consultant

Location: Spokane, Washington

In Suite 500 of the beautiful and historic US Bank Building at 422 W Riverside Ave

Format: This is the five day format.  Participants must attend all days and complete the 10 consultations (phone or in person) to get credit for the course.  20 Hours of Classroom, 20 Hours of Practicum and 10 consultations.

10 hours of consultation are required in order to complete this training. We provide these hours on either Monday at 11am or Wednesdays at 2pm  in the 11 weeks following the course. Your payment covers those consultations only within that timeframe. If you cannot complete those consultations you may find consultations with an outside EMDRIA Approved Consultant, or we can charge you a separate charge to complete them at a later time. 

CE’s: Participants will receive 40 CE’s through WMHCA

Cost: Early Bird: $1,399 (Until February 15, 2021)

$1,499 Regular Tuition (After February 15, 2021)

$1199 for Graduate students

Graduate students (second year and above students only) you must include a copy of your transcripts, practicum or internship details and letter from your supervisor which includes the supervisor’s license information and number stating you may take the course and will have clients with whom you will be able to use EMDR.

Eligibility:  Must be an independently licensed professional with mental health services as part of their scope of practice, hold an associates license, or be an approved graduate student.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define and describe EMDR.
  2. Understand the history and origins of EMDR.
  3. Understand and apply the AIP model
  4. Conduct case conceptualization and treatment planning based on the AIP model
  5. List and explain the EMDR model – 8 Phases
  6. Support, through research, EMDR effectiveness
  7. Conduct Resource Development
  8. Determine client readiness for processing
  9. Conduct an EMDR based client clinical history.
  10. Identify potential targets and touchstone memories for EMDR processing
  11. Understand legal and ethical issues related to EMDR
  12. Identify protocols and strategies for special populations and situations
  13. Understand difficulties associated with dissociative disorders and EMDR
  14. Understand, recognize, and process an abreaction
  15. Understand and apply strategies for closing sessions
  16. Apply techniques such as a cognitive interweave, to counter blocking, looping challenges, and other situations that may arise in processing traumatic memories
